D olcetto d'Ovada D.O.C. has a very intense ruby red colour, tending towards purple. It has a pleasantly characteristic vinous scent. Its harmonious taste is dry, velvety, slightly bitter and moderately acidic. Perfectly paired with an entire meal, it matches particularly well with light main course dishes.

Dolcetto d'Ovada according to
Piedmont tradition

D olcetto d'Ovada is a D.O.C. red wine with production permitted only within the province of Alessandria, in Piedmont, using grapes of the Dolcetto varietal.

The grapes hail from the municipalities of Ovada, Belforte Monferrato, Bosio, Capriata d'Orba, Carpeneto, Casaleggio Boiro, Cassinelle, Castelletto d'Orba, Cremolino, Lerma, Molare, Montaldeo, Montaldo Bormida, Mornese, Morsasco, Parodi Ligure, Prasco, Rocca Grimalda, San Cristoforo, Silvano d'Orba, Tagliolo Monferrato or Trisobbio.

In addition to the organoleptic characteristics and pairings suggested in the description sheet, it should be noted that, with a minimum alcohol content of 12.5° and at least 1 year of ageing, Dolcetto d'Ovada is titled as a “superior” wine. This red wine is suitable for consumption when young, with ageing recommended only for the “superior” quality. It generally pairs with first course dishes, meats and cheeses, being best consumed at a temperature of 16-20° C.
